Announcing The New Game Regulation Toolset!
Stop Thinking In Tasks
Whenever we find ourselves buried in a mass of tasks that seem impossible to get accomplished, we enter a state of overwhelm where our effectiveness suffers. We are always quick to blame ourselves for this and attempt to excuse our short comings but the only thing that is off is how we are thinking about these tasks. It gets worse when we make a mistake or leave something out and then have to go through a correction process that sometimes involves a degree of cover up. In the end, we usually pull ourselves out but in truth at least 65% of the time we spend operating in this more is unproductive and we wonder why things are so hard and why we don’t seem to ever have enough time.
Start Thinking In Projects
The key to getting out of the paralysis of overwhelm is to shift our thinking away from the 5000 tasks and onto the 5 projects each of which may contain a thousand tasks or the 50 projects with a hundred tasks. Projects are containers for however many tasks belong within that project. Projects can be organized by domains of accountability so we may end up with 5 domains each with 10 projects containing 100 tasks. By thinking in projects, we also are more able to effective delegate to others and make sure their promises are kept. We can design a high-performance business process that reduces the high cost of fixing mistakes and the ability to precisely forecast and track productivity and growth.
Domains Manager
Organize Critical Priorities
Every project or task for that matter takes place in some domain of accountability. It may be administration, accounting, marketing, communications, fulfilment. Buying rolls of paper towels can be placed in the domain of office hygiene. So, the first step to reducing the overwhelming number of tasks is to determine the structure of the domains involves and then depositing these tasks on a list within a domain. Selling agents are deeply involved in the creativity required to generate new business and yet still have to balance their checkbook. No only are these different domains they are entirely different ways of thinking.

Projects Coordinator
Keep Projects Moving Forward
The most basic part of thinking and managing in projects is to have a list of what the projects are in both a detailed format and a very simple reminder format. When working with a number of different domains there can be a projects list within each domain. Each project has a list of action items or tasks to be completed. This also includes giving each a number; a priority such as critical, essential and optional; a Date-Time of completion, some indication of who got it done and the status of completion as in completed, abandoned or transferred to a future date and of course that transfer date. Every task has a life of its own and may involve sub-tasks as well. But within the context of a project the separate tasks pull together to accomplish an overall result.

People Delegator
Manage Team Accountability
Managing a list of projects in a variety of domains of accountability leads to the next and most critical component of regulating any operation which is people. Without people, nothing gets done and without clear and complete communications between people everyone tries their best but never reaches a high level of performance. What people work hard but fail to produce the results they want they start to shut down and hideout. Accountability is about managing making effective requests and then managing the making and keeping of promises. The challenge is to stay out ahead of any broken promises because there will be an even bigger mess to clean up.

Process Architecture
Create a High Performance Process
Regulating an effective process requires first knowing the steps of the process. Having people author checklists for differently areas of accountability gives them a chance to own that process rather than become the victim of it. A process architecture has a series of phases through which a business must pass its offer to clients. The phases of the process contain functions which are parts of a phase that contain a number of action items all designed to fulfill a purpose. These functions have steps and each step may require a number of actions in order to complete the step. Process Architecture means nailing down a precise high performance process of getting things done that harnesses the power of the team delivers consistent results to clients.

Productivity Tracker
Make Sure Results Get Produced
The game regulation process is all about harnessing the power of people working on projects by following a precise process within a set period of time. These components lead to a fifth which is productivity which has a number of dimensions including results, income, expenses, budgets and other financial priorities. productivity is not just results it is income and it is not just income in that it also about what happens with that income after it has been collected. Without a clear productivity management tool the grind of daily work with clients can become debilitating and this can produce a diminishing return of one’s investment of time, energy and political capital in the marketplace or industry.
